Slight cracking to gutters, with exposed netting. Heavier tanning to pastedowns. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is slightly dulled.

Previous owner's name plate on fep which has faded through to next two pages; ffep torn out, but glued back in. Nameplate from Camborne Wesley Sunday School (a Wesleyan-Methodist Sunday School located in Cornwall. Nameplate has a printed date of Christmas, 1882. Page edges starting to yellow with some small smudges here and there. "Uncle Henry is going to set up a curate. How will the Queen of Oldcourt like a Prime Minister to interfere with her domain?".

Pasted inside the front board is a sticker, Awarded to Samuel Soames, S. Mathias Sunday School for attendance & good conduct 1889. Frontispiece: black and whtie plate, it was pretty to see the little, frail, bent form clinging to his strong arm.
