Four volumes (No. 5-8) of a large collection of writings by Church Fathers; bound into one physical volume (17 volumes were published). Recent binding (imitation of parchment). Pages are decorated with headpieces, tailpieces and many initials; every title page is decorated with an identical cut. The 8th volume has numbered pages, instead of columns. However, pages are numbered from 461 to 942. The table of contents also suggests this is correct (errata published in a later volume confirm this). /// Hardback, [4]+506 (1012 columns), [4]+259 (518 columns), [4]+323 (646 columns), [4]+482 pp., 4° (25 x 38 cm), cover only slightly worn, ca. 10 leaves yellowed and worn (three leaves were chipped; skilfully fixed by a bookbinder), the rest of pages only slightly yellowed (if at all), only rarely with tiny smudges or spots, condition: very good Book Language/s: Latin.
