(bulletin de souscription), 1 note manuscrite de l'auteur (copie d'un extrait de l'Histoire de France d'Henri Martin), et 2 comptes-rendus de l'ouvrage (coupures de presse) Remarquable exemplaire de l'auteur, numéroté "0" et signé par celui-ci, sur beau papier de hollande. L'ouvrage fut inspiré à l'auteur par la découverte chez Jules Delpit d'une aquarelle représentant le château des Captaux de Buch. Gustave Labat commence son bel ouvrage par le récit d'un magnifique souvenir de jeunesse "Un voyage à Gujan-Mestras en 1835" mené par l'auteur aux côté de son ami Jacques-Emile Brives-Cazes sur les charettes de retour de Sage-Grandjeay, l'un des grands poissonniers de Gujan. Il fallait alors 15 heures pour rejoindre le bassin d'Arcachon depuis Bordeaux. Le château des Captaux de Buch se situait près de l'église Saint Vincent, et Gustave Labat se rappelle en avoir pu encore constater en 1848 les vallonnements laissés par les anciens fossés. Le titre de captal de Buch désignait les seigneurs régnant du Moyen-Age à la Révolution sur le territoire des paroisses de La Teste, Gujan et Cazaux (aujourd'hui communes de La Teste de Buch, Gujan Mestras et Arcachon). Bon exemplaire (un document rajouté postérieurement en fin d'ouvrage a été enlevé, la couverture d'une notice du docteur Lalesque sur Nicolas Brémontier est collé en garde, sans le texte, très bon état par ailleurs, ex-libris Gustave Labat).
