Primera edición. Pedro Juan Labarthe López de Victoria (21 Junio 1905 Marzo 1966) fué un poeta, periodista, ensayista y novelista puertorriqueño. 80 páginas, 2 hojas. Ilustrado con una lámina con la fotografia del autor con Gabriela Mistral y una carta facsimil de Juana de Ibarburu. Cubiertas editorial ilustradas en color, algo rozadas en la parte inferior del lomo y restos de cinta adhesiva, resto muy buen estado. Sellos de la Bibl. Inst. Int. Dedicatoria autógrafa del autor a Melchor Fernández Almagro. 21,5x16 cm.

First Edition. First printing. One of 500 copies printed. Warmly inscribed in ink on front endpaper: "Para mi nueva y querida amiga Dale Gruner," datemarked "VIlla San Antonio, Lake Bloomington, Hudson, Illinois - Aug. 30, 1961." Mild external toning and soil; spine darkened, front hinge slilghtly over-opened; still a sound and clean, Very Good copy. Text in Spanish. Late collection of poems by Labarthe (1905-1966), a Puerto-Rican born poet and novelist, most of whose career was spent in the United States; he was a graduate of Columbia University and head of the Spanish Department at Pennsylvania Women's College through the 1940s. Something of a public intellectual, Labarthe lectured widely on U.S.-Latin American relations; in 1947 the editors of Dial Press named him one of the 100 "outstanding living writers in the world." The only definite reference we have been able to make to Ms. Gruner is as a 1961 graduate of Wellesley College.
