Aptullah Kurans Werk gilt als eines der fundiertesten Standardwerke zur Architektur Mimar Sinans (ca. 1490?1588). Der Architekturhistoriker analysiert Sinans Schaffen nicht nur historisch und biografisch, sondern vor allem typologisch und stilkritisch.
