Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Hardcover. Blue cloth over boards. "Airplane Flight" written on the spine in white paint, with a square of white paint further down the spine. Measures 10.5 x 8 inches. Multiple sections bound together in library binding; each section individually paginated. Sections are numbered as follows: 615, 620, and 641 -- all published in 1931. The first section is titled "A Study of Curvilinear Flight". 22 pages. The next is titled "Combined Pitching and Yawing Motion of Airplanes". 29 pages. Section 3 is titled "Lift Distribution and Longitudinal Stability of an Airplane". 7 pages. Each section is followed by multiple figures and tables. The entire volume, with original covers, has a later library binding. Gutters at front and back reinforced with white cloth. Two library stamps and some writing in pen on the front free endpaper. First title page, "A Study of Curvilinear Flight," has some pencil writing on the cover. Pages within are clean and free of foreign markings. Light rubbing to covers. Comes from a large collection of technical memorandums from the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics before the committee was abolished upon creation of NASA in 1958. When the Commonwealth Government assented to the War Precautions Act in 1914, it was decided that people who were of German origin or descent, as well as those from countries allied with Germany, might be a security risk, and so places had to be found to detain them. At first people were detained in army barracks or training camps but the government soon realised they would need more permanent accommodation and set up camps in specific locations, one of these being the German Concentration Camp at Holsworthy in the Liverpool district.
