All editions are very scarce and bound in the publisher's original coloured soft covers. Each work features six chromolithographic plates. Collated, complete. Undated, dated from copies held by the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford Libraries. A pleasing selection of George Routledge & Sons' "Shilling Toy Books". The series presents an exciting range of children's tales, illustrated by eminent illustrators, such as Walter Crane, Harrison Weir and Frederick William Keyl, and printed in colour by the Leighton Brothers, Dalziel Brothers and Kronheim & Co.
