Cloth. Zustand: Very good. Limited Edition. Quarto, 202pp, [6]. Publisher's brown cloth, title stamped in gilt on the spine. Illustrated with facsimiles of fifty-two historic documents, with English translations. Text was edited by Metchie J. E. Budka. Light wear to cloth boards, internally clean. This is copy number 178, presumably a second copy from the library of Dan Rostenkowski, after delivering "Copy #1" to President Carter. Includes a photograph inscribed by President Carter after receiving the book. The inscription reads: "To my good friend Danny Rostenkowski - Thanks for the American-Polish history! Jimmy Carter 10-27-77." "Dziennik Zwi zkowy," a Chicago Polish-language newspaper, reported on April 20, 1978, that immediately after publication "the first copy was dedicated to President Jimmy Carter and presented by Congressman Dan Rostenkowski". It also noted that numbered copies were distributed to institutions, libraries, and prominent public figures. A gift from Congressman Dan Rostenkowski to President Jimmy Carter, the limited edition of "Autograph Letters of Thaddeus Kosciuszko in the American Revolution," with a signed photograph from President Carter. (illustrator). Signed.
