After presenting the meaning of the term 'real', the idealistic approach of Kant, Fichte and Schelling will be adduced and its relevance for the contemporary science will be demonstrated. Subsequently the term 'scientific realism' will be introduced together with some ideas proving that it should be considered as idealism sui generis. Then some examples from the history of science will be given proving that many discoveries were preceded by an a priori idea. In the last part of the paper the human I will be depicted as the predominant 'space' of the religious experience. Since a human can discover God within him/herself, s/he is also able to discover God in and within the exterior world. Since, both in science and religion, knowledge and understanding originates from the I, there is no significant difference between scientific and religious approach.…

In the first part of the article, I shall try to prove that the Teilhardian conception of the evolutionary development of all beings up to the point of Omega-Christ, generally understood as a departure from multitude (analysis) towards unity (synthesis), is a simple consequence of the philosophical-theological thought current that began with Parmenides, manifested itself in the thought of Platon, in Middle Platonism, in the conceptions of Plotinus, Nicholas of Cusa, Spinoza, Leibniz and in german idealism. The second part of the article presents the analogy between Teilhard de Chardin's Christocentric and eschatological vision of evolution and the Christian conceptions of the emergence and return of all beings from and to God. These conceptions were present in varying scope and degree in the thought of the Greek Church Fathers (Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Cappadocian Fathers) and later Christian authors (Pseudo-Dionysus Areopagite, Maximus Confessor, Eriugena). The part's final section will discuss whether Teilhard's view on the animation or spiritualization of matter, which implies a lack of difference between 'spirit' and 'body', represents a novelty in Christian thought or whether this view can be inscribed into the current of an orthodox 'unifying' theory. By adopting the monistic perspective according to which 'matter' and 'spirit' are considered as two aspects of reality, not as two independent and incompatible substances, any problem to accept that biological evolution culminates in encephalization and spiritualization (Teilhard) will be resolved. In order to prove this thesis some hard proves from neurosciences and evolution will be adduced. Due to the recent brain research some neuronal correlates of different religious experiences can be detected. All these experiences involve brain areas (lateral prefrontal region, Brodmann's areas 39 and 40 in the inferior parietal lobe in cooperation the cortico-striato-pallido-thalamocortical system) unique to the species homo sapiens. It seems that only humans are cerebral capable of transcendence, since God, guiding the evolution, wanted them to be 'religious animals.'. …

A meta-level containing 'the knowledge of things divine and human' has been known for centuries as wisdom. Wisdom, however, in the latter meaning assumes a higher dimension in which our human world only participates. The aim of this paper is to depict a panentheistic conception of God and world which I would like to name 'the emergentist theism'. The second part of the paper gives reasons for the emphasis of God's transcendence within the Western theism, such as: (1) the transcendent view of God/gods present within the Old Testament and the Greek religious tradition; (2) the philosophical context of Platonism of the rising Jewish and Christian theism. The third part shows how Aristotle's physics, especially his conception of the First Unmoved Mover, exerted influence on the theological conception of God's transcendence being present both in Protestant and Catholic Tradition. Because of the Thomistic influence exerted first on the theology of the Counter Reformation, than on Modern Scholastic and finally on Neo-Scholasticism, this Aristotelian view remained, predominant within the Catholic Tradition up to the Second Vatican Council. The fourths part of the paper depicts how the rise of modern panentheism was influenced by Neo-Scholasticism, Darwinism and German idealism and why, therefore, some panentheists identified the traditional theism with the Neo-Scholastic, i.e. 'the Aristotelian' conception of God. The fifths part gives an introduction into the philosophical and theological monism. By the first I mean the conception of deriving of the many from one principle, by the letter the view of the emergence of creatures from God through Logos. In this conception, which I call 'the emergentist theism', God is not 'outside' but within the creation which expresses and reveals Himself even to Himself. The sixth and last part of the paper shows, in a very short sketch, that some traces of this conception of God's immanence can be found in the writings of: Justin the Martyr, Clemens Alexandrinus, Origen, Gregory of Nyssa, Gregory of Nazianz, Basil of Cesarea, Pseudo-Denys, Maximus Confessor and Gregory Palamas.…
