Hardcover. Zustand: gut. 2004. Bereits vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg zählte Cesar Klein (1876-1954) zur künstlerischen Avantgarde in Deutschland. Die Malerei Cézannes sowie die prismatisch gesplitterten kubistischen Kompositionen leiteten um 1915 die entscheidende künstlerische Wende im Schaffen des expressionistischen Künstlers ein. Neben Nolde, Kirchner und Heckel zählte Cesar Klein 1909 zu den Gründungsmitgliedern der "Neuen Sezession" in Berlin, 1918 u. a. zu den Initiatoren der revolutionären "Novembergruppe". Zeitlebens konnte Cesar Klein auf dem Felde der angewandten Kunst große Erfolge feiern. Seit 1919 entstanden zudem viel beachtete Bühnenbilder. Daneben wurde der Künstler als Lehrer an die Berliner Akademie berufen. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg gehörte Cesar Klein zu den Künstlern der ersten Stunde. Zäsurlos knüpfte er an seine Schaffensphase vor 1933 an und fand sich mit seinen surreal anmutenden Bildern unversehens wieder inmitten des aktuellen Kunstgeschehens. Über den Autor: Uwe Haupenthal, geb. 1956, studierte Kunstgeschichte in Frankfurt/M. und Bonn. 1986 Promotion über das plastische Werk des Karlsruher Bildhauers Wilhelm Loth. Seit 1991 leitet er das Richard-Haizmann-Museum in Niebüll. Seit 1996 ist er zugleich auch Kustos für wechselnde Ausstellungen beim Museumsverbund Nordfriesland in Husum.
