This is an excellent opportunity to purchase an attractive and decorative engraved portrait of William Kitchener, a rather self-important beadle for the liberty of Saffron Hill, Hatton Garden in the parish of St Andrew's in Holborn in about 1730.

Signature of Victor Neuberg on e.p. with his note about the author. This popular self-help manual curiously included in the third edition (1823) an extra section entitled 'The Pleasure of Making a Will.' Four years later the author 'died very suddenly at midnight, after having returned home. from a dinner-party at Mr Braham's. He had been in uncommonly good spirits during the afternoon, and enjoyed the company to a later hour than his usually early habits allowed. He seemed, on this occasion, to have thrown off much of his usual timidity and reserve, and amused the party with some of his whimsical reasons for inventing odd things, and giving them odd names.' ref: The Ladies' Monthly Museum, Vol 26, 1827.
