Binding is strong, but the pages are old wood pulp paper and quite brittle. Pages heavily toned, but free of marks or writing. Some light chipping to the fore-edge of the front cover and corners. Covers are clean with light rubbing at crown and foot of spine as well as outer corners. Binding is tight and secure. Pages are clean, crisp, and bright with light uniform toning. Printed in B&W with some brown accents. Multiple illustrations and charts printed throughout, including a large fold-out map between pages 156 and 157. 305 pages. Title page dated 1946. There is light fading to board edges and spine ends. page block is tinted blue to upper edge, with light foxing visible in the tint, no other foxing. Previous owner's name on pastedown, otherwise no notes or inscriptions. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Dust Jacket is in Good Condition, not price clipped (30s. net), general edge wear, chips around head and heel of spine and corners, but complete and bright. Book has slight forward lean.
