LÃ vy signed on the upper turn-in, with a design on the upper cover of onlaid brown leather being 2 eagle heads tooled in blind and onlaid brown, pale blue and ivory morocco clouds and earth lines, gilt and black tooling, spine titled in gilt, gilt fillets on turn-ins, brown watered silk doublures, original wrappers bound in. Housed in the original half brown morocco and marbled paper chemise and slipcase. Slight mild fading to spine, otherwise very good. A WWI novel by Joseph Kessel focussed on a the crew of a two-man reconnaissance plane, inscribed in memory of the author it would seem on the half title. Levy has responded to the blue printing of the illustrations and the sentiment of the story in her binding.
