Lane of Yale called his research "first rate and a pleasure to read" (1957). -- Atkins: BA Trinity College, Cambridge 1942, MA 1945, Ph.D. in physics 1948; taught in Cambridge, then Toronto 1951-54, at the University of Pennsylvania from 1954, specializing in radar research, low temperature physics, solid state physics. A note in the Condon papers finding aid notes year of death as 1995.
