The first editions of Reynolds Stone Engravings, being the first complete catalouge o…f Stone's artwork, with an appreciation by renowned British art historian Kenneth Clark. Published in 1977, two years before the artist's death. In the publisher's original cloth, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Contains numerous in-text and full-page illustrations of Stone's artwork, including those in colour. An artist whose iconic work was perhaps more famous than the individual, Stone was considered among the best engravers of his generation. As seen in this catalogue, his engravings survive on stamps, royal emblems, and coats of arms today, being used on postage stamps and bank notes.
