Concurrent with active pastoral ministry, he served on numerous boards and committees including the National Association of Evangelicals' Board of Administration and as the vice-chair of the Buffalo/Niagara Falls Billy Graham crusade. For fourteen years following retirement in 1993, he and his wife, Mitzie, taught a Bible class in a United Methodist church.
