Leatherbound. Zustand: Like New. Limited Edition. Limited Edition / 1st Edition THUS 1 of 1,000. Quarter Leather binding. Gilt lettering and decoration on cover and spine, Gilt on tope edge. No marks and gently read if at all. In original slip case (which has minor shelf wear.). . . . . . . . "The 'Land and Water' Salmon Flies 1886-1902" by George M. Kelson, published in 1973 (with the handsome limited edition of 1,000 copies actually appearing in 1993 from the Flyfisher's Classic Library in Devon), is a beautifully produced facsimile-style collection that reproduces the iconic series of chromolithograph plates of salmon flies originally featured in the British sporting periodical Land and Water during Kelson's tenure as angling editor. Featuring 83 exquisitely rendered color plates of classic Victorian-era salmon patterns, accompanied by an informative introduction by R.J.W. Coleby, the volume serves as both a visual feast for fly tiers and a historical reference to the elegant, often complex dressings that defined late-19th-century British salmon fishing, preserving Kelson's influential work in a high-quality, quarter-leather-bound format with slipcase that has become a prized collector's item among dedicated salmon anglers and bibliophiles.…
