In the past few years we have seen the emergence growing demand, widespread desire in our country and indeed everywhere, that positive action is required to be taken to restore the quality of our environment for survival to protect it from the degrading effects of all forms of pollution-air, water, noise, solid waste (Electronic, Nuclear etc). The primary obstacle has been a lack of fundamental understanding of the process, required both to explain and control the occasional upsets which may occur, and to extend successfully this process to the treatment of wide variety of industrial wastewaters.
