Vermerk: Plinthe auf dem Foto unfertig". Karl Prasse besuchte die Werkkunstschule Hannover und arbeitete anschließend bis 1940 freiberuflich als Maler und Graphiker. Nach dem Kriegsdienst war er als Pressezeichner tätig und wandte sich gegen Ende der 1950er Jahre der Plastik zu. Siegfried Salzmann war von 1971 bis 1984 Direktor des Wilhelm Lehmbruck-Museums in Duisburg und anschließend bis 1993 Direktor der Kunsthalle Bremen.
