[Geneva or London]: Izdanie Bratstva Vol'nykh Obshchinnikov (Federatsiia Anarkhistov-Kommunistov), [1913]. Octavo (17.5 × 12.5 cm). Original staple-stitched printed wrappers; 12 pp. A very good copy. First and only edition of this pamphlet by the Russian anarchist Apollon Karelin (1863-1926), who had been a member of the Socialist-Revolutionary Party until 1909. By 1911, he had officially joined the anarchists and was close to P. A. Kropotkin, going on to edit the anarchist emigre paper "Golos truda" (The voice of labor). He organized and led two non-party anarchist groups, the "Free socialists" (Vol'nye sotsialisty), later known as the "Brotherhood of free communists (Bratstvo vol'nykh obshchinnikov), which is the name given as the publisher of the present work. In addition to publishing numerous pamphlets under this imprint, he also edited the anarchist journal "Molot" (The hammer). Here, citing Bakunin, Tolstoy, and Rosa Luxemburg, Karelin argues against constitutionalist democratic regimes, accepting only the creation of "anarchist communism" as a viable result of the struggle to liberate the working class. KVK and OCLC show the copies at Columbia, Cornell, Hoover, Michigan, Yale, the Swedish National and the Tokyo Diet Library.…
