Per tutta la vita Tadeusz Kantor interpreterà il proprio percorso artistico in modo dirompente e avanguardistico, evidenziando ogni passaggio per mezzo di un manifesto poetico e artistico, fino all'ultimo Il teatro della morte.Dagli anni Settanta, dal primo spettacolo appartenente al ciclo del Teatro della morte, La classe morta, le sue creazioni appaiono sui palcoscenici di tutto il mondo, prodotte e ospitate dai più importanti festival e istituzioni teatrali.Kantor muore nel 1990 a Cracovia, l'8 dicembre, dopo una delle prove del suo ultimo spettacolo che si intitolava "Oggi è il mio compleanno".
