Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. First edition. Book design by Paul Kantner and Vincent Lynch. Cover by Gareth Kantner. Paperback original. Octavo. 113pp. Numerous graphics, including drawings, photographs and cartoons. Appendix A includes song lyrics written by Kantner; Appendix B includes phone numbers from Kantner's trip. Illustrated wrappers. Modest rubbing and faint creasing on the wrappers, overall at least very good. Based on Kantner's journals, an account of Kantner's 1987 journey to Nicaragua, in which he performed for the Sandinistas (whose revolutionary spirit he admired) and sought to learn about the situation there for himself. A hilarious, politically charged account of a rebellious, wide-eyed hippie's encounter with the communist regime. Inscribed by the author: "To Pete Seeger, thanks for the propulsion, with love, Paul Kantner." Kantner, co-founder and leader of both Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship, often cited Seeger as a crucial early influence. Seeger's 1948 *Banjo Instruction Manual* reportedly turned Kantner onto music.

Unbound. Zustand: Fine. Two 8.5" x 11" sheets, the first sheet with Jefferson Starship's "Miracles" lyrics handwritten on both sides by Marty Balin (but unsigned), and the second with Jefferson Airplane's "Volunteers" lyrics on a single side by Balin and Signed by both Balin and Paul Kantner. Likely created years later as a souvenir. Both sheets are fine. Balin originally formed Jefferson Airplane, although it was Kantner who was seen to be the leader of the group, and who later went on to form "Jefferson Starship" after Jefferson Airplane began to disband in the early 1970s. "Miracles" was written by Balin and appeared on their 1975 album *Red Octopus* where it reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, making it the band's highest charting single that they recorded in its "Starship" iteration. "Volunteers" meanwhile was released in 1969 on the album of the same name which made it onto *Rolling Stone*'s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Both groups included front woman, Grace Slick, who sang and played piano for the bands and "earned a position as one of the most prominent female rock musicians of her time.".
