In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 5th or later Edition. I am pleased to be able to offer what will soon be a 100 year old copy of: "Pennsylvania Trees" by Joseph S. Illick. This medium-sized hard cover book was published by the Pennsylvania Department of Forests and Waters, Charles E. Dorworth, then Secretary of the Department, and published as Bulletin 11, a reprint of the Fifth Edition of 1925. This book is dated 1928 and is rare in the book trade in any vintage edition. The book is very well illustrated throughout, starting with an image of Dr. Joseph T. Rothrock "The Father of Pennsylvania Forestry." It is bound in forest green boards with edge framing and gilt titles on the spine. The book is very well illustrated throughout and although there are some signs of darkening to interior pages, I believe it is the result of the kind of paper used rather than exposure to environmental extremes like high humidity. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers show some minor bumping to the corners and spine tips and the titles on the spine are slightly muted. Inside, there is a stamped gift inscription from a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives but that is the only mark I found. The interior pages are generally clean and, as mentioned above, showing some toning in groups of sheaths, probably of an inferior type of paper. The front hinge is split and the rear intact and the binding still feels tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Photographs by the Author (illustrator). …
