Paris, J.G. Dentu, 1815. In-8, broché, couverture de papier bleu moderne, viii, 87 p. Edition originale de cette brochure publiée à Paris, après le retour de Fouché aux affaires. Elle s'inscrit dans la cabale des anciens émigrés contre lui, qui poussa le roi à l'écarter. Contient le texte d'un rapport au roi attribué à Fouché qui circulait alors. Fouché y exhortait Louis XVIII à "garantir" la Révolution. La réfutation de Guéau de Reverseaux de Rouvray, ancien émigré officier au régiment de la Sarre, figure en regard du rapport. Signature de l'imprimeur Dentu. Très bon exemplaire, très frais.

Journaliste et homme de lettres, l'auteur collabora au "Journal des Débats" et au "Drapeau Blanc". Il émigra aux Etats Unis durant la Révolution de Juillet. Réfutation d'un texte, par lequel Fouché, alors chef du Gouvernement provisoire justifiait sa décision d'accepter l'occupation étrangère après Waterloo. La Lettre de Fouché au duc de Wellington est reproduite intégralement de la page 43 à la fin. Très bon exemplaire, très frais.
