In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. Omnibus Edition. 514 pages. Footnotes. Illustrations. Small stains on fore-edge, book cocked, lower corner front DJ flap torn off. DJ edges worn and small tear front DJ. These are the stories from the famous BBC-TV comedy series told in diary form. This bumper omnibus…edition has all the stories from the first two volumes in one volume. It is difficult think of a better satire on the British political system. Jonathan Adam Lynn (born 3 April 1943) is an English stage and film director, producer, writer, and actor. He directed the comedy films Clue, Nuns on the Run, My Cousin Vinny, and The Whole Nine Yards. He also co-created and co-wrote the television series Yes Minister. Lynn co-authored the books The Complete Yes Minister, as well as The Complete Yes Prime Minister, which spent 106 weeks on the Sunday Times top 10 fiction list. Both were ranked number one on the Sunday Times list, including in December 1986 when the books were ranked number one and number two respectively. Lynn's work on the Minister series earned him three BAFTAs, two Broadcasting Press Guild Awards, and two Pye Television Writers Awards, and he won the ACE Award for Best Written Comedy Series. Sir Antony Rupert Jay, CVO, CBE (20 April 1930 21 August 2016) was an English writer and broadcaster. He also wrote The Householder's Guide to Community Defence Against Bureaucratic Aggression. Jay received a knighthood in the 1988 New Year Honours. He also wrote Elizabeth R, and was appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order for personal services to the royal family in the 1993 New Years Honours list. Yes Minister is a British political satire sitcom written by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn. Comprising three seven-episode series, it was first transmitted on BBC2 from 1980 to 1984. A sequel, Yes, Prime Minister, ran for 16 episodes from 1986 to 1988. All but one of the episodes lasted half an hour, and almost all ended with a variation of the title of the series spoken as the answer to a question posed by Minister (later, Prime Minister) Jim Hacker. Several episodes were adapted for BBC Radio; the series also spawned a 2010 stage play that led to a new television series on Gold in 2013. Set principally in the private office of a British cabinet minister in the fictional Department of Administrative Affairs in Whitehall, Yes Minister follows the ministerial career of Jim Hacker. His various struggles to formulate and enact policy or affect departmental changes are opposed by the British Civil Service, in particular his Permanent Secretary, Sir Humphrey Appleby. His Principal Private Secretary Bernard Woolley is usually caught between the two. The sequel, Yes, Prime Minister, continued with the same cast and followed Hacker after his unexpected elevation to prime ministerial office. The series received several BAFTAs and in 2004 was voted sixth in the Britain's Best Sitcom poll. It was the favorite television program of Margaret Thatcher, the then-British prime minister.
