Growing pains are the difficulties you face when dealing with those changes. My growing pains were spread throughout my lifetime but crested in my older years, after I retired. They centered on my belief about the human soul. I kept finding scriptures that proved that my belief was incorrect. You have a right to know. I was born November 2, 1926, the youngest child of a farm family. I graduated from high school in 1944. I wanted to farm. The Lord saved me, then called me to preach. I studied at two colleges, one seminary, and two public universities. I graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Psychology from Kansas State University in 1976. I pastored thirteen years, then served twenty-five years as a college professor. Since retirement, I have devoted much time to writing.…
