Text printed within thin green rule; elaborate colored initial letters. Johnson was the co-founder of Victor Talking Machine Company and the leading producer of American phonographs for a time. Bruns J-31: "Very limited edition, quality not known." Callahan "Partial Tarpon Bibliography," p. xiii: "Certainly the most attractive tarpon book, both in typography and design, and a particularly fine binding . a rare and handsome book." Fine green crushed morocco (spine and outer portions of boards sunned to a rich brown), gilt, gilt-stamped decorated morocco pastedowns, marbled endpapers, gilt title, rules, and sporting ornaments between raised bands on spine, t.e.g., others untrimmed, elaborate white, black, and red tarpon onlay, with gilt-stamped line, on upper board, by "The French Binders, Garden City, N.Y.".
