Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Joseph Wolf (illustrator). 190 b.w. engravings on wood, drawn by Joseph Wolf, engraved by Josiah Wood Whymper, pp. xxxii, 626, 4 pages of publications by SPCK. An early edition published after the death of Rev.Johns, in orig. publisher's gilt decorated green cloth, bevelled edges to the boards. The engravings in this edition are regarded as being almost as good as those in the first edition of 1862. A comprehensive work detailing all British birds and their habitats. In near fine condition both externally and internally. Very minor foxing to endpapers and inscriptions on front ffe dated 1879 and then 1908. An exceptionally good copy. Size: 8vo.

Octavo. 22 pages. Disbound pamphlet from the Churchill Babington collection. Good, though on slighly discoloured paper and with first and last pages somewhat grubby.
