Cyrus Whitfield Bond 1915-1978), amerikanischer Country-Sänger und Songwriter war als "Singing Cowboy? in zahlreichen Western-Filmen der vierziger und fünfziger Jahre zu sehen (u.a. an der Seite von Gene Autry). Als Songwriter erfolgreicher wie als Sänger hatte er bis 1951 dennoch ein paar Top-Ten-Hits in der Country-Hitparade. Da sich seine Platten aber allgemein weniger gut verkauften, wurde sein Plattenvertrag bei Columbia nicht verlängert. Nachdem er sich in der 50er-Jahren erfolglos bei kleineren Labels versucht hatte, gelang ihm 1964 mit dem Song "Ten Little Bottles" ein unverhofftes Comeback, der es bis auf Platz zwei der Country-Hitparade schaffte. Er schrieb außerdem Biographien über Gene Autry (nie veröffentlicht) und Tex Ritter und arbeitete an einem Buch über Western Music. Sprache: en.
