In den Warenkorb[Munitions Factory Plans] SIGNED BY KENNETH BINGHAM QUINAN, one of just 1000 copies. Large octavo (28 x 19cm), pp.xvi; 145 [1]. With 24 large folding plans and diagrams. SIGNED and dated 3rd November 1920 by Quinan in black ink to front pastedown. Publisher's green quarter cloth with black titles to spine. Tan paper-covered boards with black titles. Bookseller's ticket to upper board. Light occasional spotting, offsetting to endpapers. Boards a little bowed, some bumps to edges, rubbing to extremities, cloth to spine sunned, spine ends rolled, some rubbing to joints, small split at the foot of the spine. Very good. Cited by David Lloyd George as a key figure in the struggle against Germany during the First World War, Quinan was responsible for building and running several highly efficient explosive factories in Britain during that period. Having joined the family explosives company in California during the 1890's, he later moved to South Africa with his uncle to make explosives for the mining industry, before being summoned to Britain by Lord Moulton at the outbreak of war. In the introduction McNab notes that 'a large amount of technical information has been produced and collected by Mr. Quinan and those immediately associated with him, and it was felt that as much as possible of this information should be made available to the public.'. Signed.
