Removed. First edition. 20 pp. 8vo. John Morin Scott (1789-1858) grandson of the Revolutionary War leader of the same name, was a mayor of Philadelphia. Here he argues against disunion and that the South, with its smaller population, "comparative seclusion from the world, and from the assimilation process of constant intercourse… with men, have given in those states a tone of society less favorable to republican doctrines, as we understand them there [and] more allied to the sentiments belonging to the aristocratic form." It ends with this pleas "Young men without distinction of party beloved sons of our beloved country - she cries to you for union, union, union." OCLC list a single copy in Easton Area Pub.
