This is a light satiric verse mocking King George IV and his cabinet shortly after his coronation, with vignette illustrations from George Cruikshank.With an advertisement leaf to the rear.The 1820 twentieth edition of 'The Man in the Moon', a remarkable satirical pamphlet alluding to the Peterloo Massacre by William Hone, illustrated with fifteen cuts by George Cruickshank. Cruikshank illustrated cavalrymen attacking and killing protestors, as well as the Prince Regent, the Church, and the army as they dance hand in hand with the devil.With an advertisement leaf to the rear.The 1820 thirty-fourth edition of 'The Queen's Matrimonial Ladder'. He was a Scottish baronet, landowner, advocate and agriculturalist. With two leaves of notes in Forbes's hand to the rear of the work, and his inscription appearing to a small number of title page heads. In a half calf binding with marbled paper covered boards. Rubbing to back strip head and tail and joints. Head of front joint starting, but firmly held. Hinges strained, but firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, binding strained. Pages generally clean and bright, with the odd handling mark. Signed to head of one work.
