"Paramount Pictures" stamp with file number, "36117," and date entered, "12/29/36," annotated in manuscript ink, "Received Dec 21 P.M." stamp, and "Revised" and "Complete" stamps on front wrapper. Dore Schary was an American playwright, director and producer for the stage, a prolific and noted screenwriter and producer in motion pictures from the 1930s to the 1960s, head of production at RKO and MGM in the 1940s, and would go on to become the president of MGM during the 1950s. He won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay with Eleanore Griffin in 1938, for "Boys Town," directed by Norman Taurog. Nature reporter Orville Shanks' (Charles Ruggles) editor (Lyle Talbot), orders him to spice up his column "Our Wild Friends" by making it a gossip column, Orville's wife Melba (Alice Brady) does so using animals as cover for actual townsfolk, and the column becomes a hit.
