As President and then Chairman of the Ford Motor Company in the 1980s, the author oversaw the most radical transformation in the history of that company - or any other. By turning Ford's pyramid upside down, giving power back to employees and capturing the power of teams, he brought about phenomenal improvements in morale and product quality. In this book, Petersen lays out a plan of action for CEOs, managers and even hourly workers based on the lessons he learned from his decade at the pinnacle of Ford. Taking readers step by step, he shows how to organise teams, train and retrain employees, put a quality programme in place, and forget the top-down approach that stifles creativity. Unlike others who have attempted such a book, Petersen is a hands-on practitioner. He knows what does and does not work in the real world. This book explains why these solutions are effectively not only at Ford but in any organisation trying to implement radical change. Teamwork is the management book for the 90s.Some writing in pen to inside back cover. Some underling in pen to some pages.(We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions etc.).
