FIRST DA CAPO PRESS hardcover reprint, sewn-bound in dark blue cloth, with gilt lettering on front cover and spine, is in FINE condition. Dust jacket, enclosed in protective mylar (mylar not pictured), is in GOOD condition, having small tears to top and bottom spine (with some small missing pieces), small tears to edges (most tears former owner kept from further tearing by placing magic tape on inside of jacket); rubbing/scuffing to jacket surface. Book is very tight and unmarked, and appears to have never been read. This book is a facsimile reprint of the first edition originally published in 1932 by Charles Scribner's Sons, and is printed on fine paper. Book is illustrated with many b&w photographs of old mansions, as well as schematic drawings of them. Original introduction by Fiske Kimball. This reprint volume is "Volume 24" of the "Da Capo Press Series in Architecture and Decorative Art", edited by Adolf K. Placzek.
