It depicts the Southeas…tern United States from the Mississippi River to the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico.It is colored to show the British Colonies in pink, French possessions in green and the regions controlled by Spain in yellow. The map is based on the manuscript of Captain John Barnwell (1722) that incorporates several details not found on earlier printed maps and Popple's important 20-sheet map . Catesby scholar G.F.
