The first work, published by Elzevier, is Willems 536. Both works are by the eminent French Protestant theologian, Jean Daille (1594-1670), the first being a Latin translation by Daille himself of his 'De la Creance des Peres sur le Fait des Images' which was printed in Geneva in 1641. Provenance: E Heron-Allen with his book label inside the front board [E. Heron-Allen was an important collector of Elzevier Editions], overlaying a label of Jacobi Brovn Craven, Kirkvallensis [James Brown Craven (1850-1924), the influential antiquarian scholar and ecclesiastical historian and Rector of St Olaf's Episcopal Church in Kirkwall, Scotland.
