Leather. Zustand: Very Good Indeed. A charmingly illustrated edition of the parson-naturalist's iconic work, with colour plates and in full calf. Published in 1888, first published in 1795.A full calf, with a monochrome frontispiece by Davis and Hinchcliff, as well as all thirty-nine colour plates. Collated complete. One of the most influential works within natural science of his generation, Gilbert White's observations of his local Selbourne encouraged the importance of observing the natural world, and his results are recorded within this charming volume. Slight fading to the top extremities of the rear board, and bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. End papers are bright and clean. Bookseller's stamp to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with slight spotting to first couple of leaves, mostly to blanks. Very Good Indeed. Davis, Unknown (illustrator). book.
