He was reknwoned for both his teaching and his practice. This volume collects Jenner's papers on Fever. ; 9 x 6.4 x 1.8; 594 pages.

In good condition, lightly aged, with thin strip of paper from mount adhering to the reverse of the second leaf, which carries the postscript: 'If you write I will arrange for Tuesday -'. Folded twice. He be…gins by apologising for not being able to meet Cleveland that day or the next: 'I have to go to Surbiton & Hampton this afternoon & on my return start for a consult. in Cumberland & cannot be home till Monday night -'. He concludes with 'regret not to have the pleasure of meeting you & Dr Jackson'. From the distinguished autograph collection of the psychiatrist Richard Alfred Hunter (1923-1981), whose collection of 7000 works relating to psychiatry is now in Cambridge University Library. Hunter and his mother Ida Macalpine had a particular interest in the illness of King George III, and their book 'George III and the Mad Business' (1969) suggested the diagnosis of porphyria popularised by Alan Bennett in his play 'The Madness of George III'.
