Letter One: 12mo, 2 pp. Good on lightly-aged paper. The 'delightful drawing' she left for him is a 'wonderful surprise'. He hopes she is 'getting some painting done'; he does a little at weekends 'but it's very depressing having to go back to the office just when things get going'. Feels that the war 'might end all of a sudden'.
