Broadside circular, 26 x 20 cm. advising that shipments of sugar "proceed with activity and prices are fully supported" but that there is some apprehension about cane still in the field. Concerns about atmospheric conditions, and cane that proved drier than expected may affect yield. Three small charts accompany the reports, one on exports of sugar, one on molasses exports, and one on current prices for various items, including jerked beef, fish, whale oil, etc. Signed in type by J.C. Burnham & Co. A short note in ink, approx. 45 words, is appended to the bottom of the circular, addressed to Fred Huth [sp.?] & Co., London, and signed by Burnham, sending this copy of the circular along. Accompanied by [2 1/4] pp. letter copy, on onion skin, approx. 230 words, also addressed to Fred Huth & Co., dated Havana, 10 May 1847. The London company is requested to provide insurance on 2000-3000 boxes of yellow sugar, valued at $23 per box, being shipped per the American ship "Rideout," Brown Master.
