The first edition to most, with 'Catalogue Descriptive and Historical of the Pictures and Scul…pture in the Corporation Galleries of Art Glasgow' being a third edition and 'Sketch-Guide to the Italian Art Loan Exhibition' having appeared before in the form of a series of articles in the 'Glasgow Herald'.Bound in full straight grain morocco by Duncan Campbell & Son with their binder's label to the rear pastedown.The binder has hand stamped their own pagination going up to pp. 674.Includes a hand written, bound in index to the front.Illustrated with nine maps and plans, with eight being folding plates, and one plate depicting a letter from John Ure, Lord Provost from 1882.A large collection of very scarce pamphlets on the city of Glasgow, with most being vanishingly scarce. The pamphlets cover a range of interesting topics such as the parks, a collection of catalogues for art exhibitions, meteorology and much more. The collection also includes reports on the 'Corporation Galleries', now known as the 'McLellan Galleries', a series of works written by D. Pages generally bright and clean with the minor handling marks, the odd very small closed tear and minimal age toning. 'Town Clerk's Office, Glasgow' copy with their stamps throughout. Very Good.
