In den WarenkorbThe first volume of the progressive political periodical for 1789, covering the months of January and February. It comprises issues 1 to 26 (although lacks 6 & 7) of the journal, with most of the counterpart 'annonces, articles et avis divers' sections (lacking 6, 7, 9 & 22), together with the supplements 1 to 4 and 6 (apparently lacking 5 but continuously paginated) and 12 onwards. The supplements are of dates later in the year (beginning with 28 August). Apart from the lacunae noted and despite eccentricities of binding and page numbering, the run appears to be complete for this volume. Early blind-stamped calf boards lacking spine. The material in this volume was written and printed by Lebrun in revolutionary Liege in the Netherlands; he went on to play an active role in the French revolution and was subsequently guillotined. Many pages irregularly cropped with occasional loss of page numbering and, more rarely, words of text. Few pages have contemporary ink annotations, some others have light spotting or blotches. Otherwise, and considering how inexpensively produced, a clean and sound example.
