Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - In one dramatic moment you may find yourself incarcerated, or have family or a friend abruptly locked behind bars. Rescuing Treasures of Darkness expresses the hope of love through Jesus Christ reaching countless men and women in prisons worldwide. Journey with Jan into lost lives and discover life in its truest form in the most somber of circumstances. 'I was doing time,' a prisoner told Jan, 'and for the first time in many years I attended a chapel service. I sat in the back row full of guilt, shame and darkness. When I heard the PFPI (Prayer for Prisoners International) volunteers speak and sing I was touched by their love, faith and goodness. Light spilled into my cramped, cruel world.' Burdened and discouraged, prisoners begin to feel hope and in this book you will read how God's glorious truth provides strength to these men and women. You will read about their lives full of mistakes, heartbreak and rage, and of their coming like lambs in repentance to the Great Shepherd. In 1974 Jan McLaughlin had a life changing visit from Jesus who left her with a passionate desire to share His amazing love. After living for years in a different sort of prison, Jan understood the feeling of hopelessness most prisoners live with. In 1987, she founded Prayer Warriors For Prisoners (PWFP), now Prayer For Prisoners International (PFPI), which reaches prisoners throughout the world. PFPI is a vehicle for others to participate in the prison mission field. Jan writes a monthly column in the Senior Beacon and her first book, Light For The Journey, chronicles her spiritual journey with Jesus. Jan and her husband, Rick, are missionaries to prisoners throughout the United States and abroad.…
