Portret buste in ovaal van Jan de Witt, van voren gezien.Stippelgravure en ets gemaakt door Jan KObell (I) naar ontwerp van Smit. lk.Schepen (1783) en raad van Amsterdam (1785-1787), werd ontslagen door stadhouder Willem V waarna hij met zijn gezin naar Frankrijk emigreerde. Hij was in 1795 terug in Amsterdam en werd lid van de Municipaliteit aldaar; in 1796 was hij minister van de Bataafse Republiek bij de Zwitserse kantons. Later vestigde hij zich opnieuw in Frankrijk, waar hij overleed. Getrouwd met Johanna Wilhelmina Clifford. Original etching en engraving 1787. Total: 280 x 210 mm, platemark 180 x 150 mm.
