Case PaperDell Computer Com…pany founded in 1984 uses the business model of eliminating retailers from the sales channel and selling directly to customers. Dell used this model to deliver customized systems to customers with lower than market average prices. To assist Dell in accomplishing this achievement, Dell used contract manufacturers to build and supply various components of its computer equipment. However, Dell has identified issues arising from its L5 and L6 manufacturing processes regarding motherboard availability and the resulting increased cost of manufacturing and logistics. In this paper, I will review and evaluate the L5 and L6 manufacturing and logistics cost, the manufacturing solution to best minimize the issues, and address the chipset supply concerns In addition, the business process improvement methodology will be reviewed, supply changes recommended, and the application to other industries and work environments.

Regardless of the environment, team dynamics is a growing trend. Realizing that results from a successful learning team as a whole outweigh any possible results from the team's individual members by themselves only adds value to the team dynamics concept. A successful team dynamics completion can only be accomplished by the supervision of an excellent team leader. Orchestrating a successful team through its life cycle is difficult and takes a special person to lead the team. A successful team leader's contributions and responsibilities are varied. However, according to (Johnson, 2005), 'Successful team leadership is not just about accomplishing tasks. Team dynamic leadership is about accomplishing both tasks and fostering relationships.' The contributions and responsibilities of the leader to the team dynamics system are the ability to provide leadership, focus, coordination, and most important communication.

Depending upon the type of industry and the prospective customer base identifies the appropriate e-commerce model. In the do-it-yourself home improvement retail market, organizations like Ace Hardware, Home Depot, and Lowe's use various forms of e-business commerce. The two e-commerce models to be reviewed in this paper are the business-to-business (B2B) model and the business-to-consumer (B2C) model. However, any e-business model relates to the flow of information and processes among enterprises and their underlying Enterprise Information System (EIS). E-businesses purpose is to facilitate supply, distribution, and customer information exchange, coordination and collaboration between multiple trading partners. In this paper, I will compare and contrast B2B and B2C e-commerce elements within the retail do-it-yourself home improvement market. Among the elements to be compared are cost, consumer exposure, customer service, differences in website structure, access rights, audience, and security.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Essay from the year 2007 in the subject Business economics - Economic Policy, grade: 96.00, University of Phoenix, course: Utilizing Information in College Writing, language: English, abstract: The United States is in the midst of an energy crisis. T…he U.S. imports the majority of its fossil fuel petroleum products from overseas. The Department of Energy estimates that by 2010 the U.S. will import 75% of its required transportation fuels (Lauder, 2001). These petroleum-based fuels are not a limitless resource. At this time based on 2005 consumption rates of petroleum products, 'the world has 41 years of proven reserves' (Dimotakis, Grober and Lewis, p. 5). Experts state that petroleum based exploration, discoveries and drilling will reach their peak by 2050. Increased awareness of the limits and over dependence on petroleum-based fossil fuels has led to a re-emergence of alternative fuels. The U.S. government has implemented an alternative energy initiative as part of their overall energy policy since the early 1970's. This new policy came because of the 1973 oil embargo. These alternative energy initiatives have focused primarily on bio-fuel sources. The two leading bio-fuel alternatives to the current petroleum-based fuels are bio-diesel and ethanol. 'Driven by environmental, economic, and energy security concerns, the availability of ethanol (E85) is growing nationally' (U.S. Department of Energy, 2006). This evaluation judges if ethanol is the most promising bio-fuel to reduce the United States dependency on fossil fuels economically, practically, technically, and environmentally.

One of the areas the company is seeking to expand and discussing exploring an opportunity to expand into facilities on Kava, a small significant island in the South Pacific. Many obstacles lay in the way of expanding into Kava by the X-Battery Company. However, X-Battery's owner, Chris Morales is dedicated and determined to expand into Kava. Mr. Morales understands and realizes that a flourishing world or globalized economy is beneficial for everyone. Mr. Morales accepts the statement 'Globalization means corporate leaders and investors must consider more than their organization's moral standards. To maintain reputation, they must look to the heart of their supply chains' (Kennedy-Glans, 2005, p.24, 1). Before making a final decision to enter Kava, I have been asked to evaluate several factors that will decide the issue of expanding into Kava. Using a three step process of identifying the problem, defining criteria, goals, and objectives, and evaluating the effects of the problem, I will evaluate three concerns: organizational processes, human resources, and ethics which will allow me to present an accurate and persuasive case.

To assist organizations in determining what product or service to introduce to the marketplace, a marketing mix formula must be followed. Successful organizational products' follow the four main elements of the marketing mix, the four P's: product, place, price, and promotion. In some instances, due to the shift from products to service solutions business strategy, the four P's may be substituted by relevance, response, relationships, and results, the four R's (English, 2000, p.21, 2). More than just advertising, marketing is the procedure that answers the questions of what the needs, wants, fears, and desires of ones target consumers are. Effective marketing is based on understanding a specific audience or consumer segment. Organizations can identify segments based on 'the attitudes, beliefs, opinions, and values surrounding their decision not to obtain' a product or service (John and Cheney, 2008, p.67, 1). Instead of focusing solely on differences, organizations need to focus on customers grouped by commonalities, with services customized for each group' (Teo, Srivastava, and Ho, 2006, p.109, Executive Summary). As a result, this paper will focus on how Downtown Dealership, a General Motors dealership, in the automobile industry uses the individual components of product, place, price, and promotion as an effective marketing strategy.

But only a few organizations have a thoroughly developed strategic plan. Strategic planning is a process that has a beginning and no ending. Beginning with the formation of a mission and core values statement, the process continues with the development of a vision statement, long-term objectives, SWOTT analysis, strategies, and short-term objectives.Several behavioral effects of strategic management improve the organizations welfare such as strategy formulation that assist the organization's ability to prevent problems, group-based strategic decisions draw the best alternative choices, the involvement of employees in strategy formulation improves the productivity-reward relationship, which heightens their motivation. In addition, the reduction of breaks and double work in activities among individuals and groups results from strategy formulation which clarifies differences in roles and assists in reduced resistance to change. Pearce and Robinson (2004) comment 'A strategy reflects a company's awareness of how, when, and where it should compete; against whom it should compete; and for what purpose it should compete' (p. 4, para. 4).Importance of Strategic Planning and Management in the Business EnvironmentThe business I want to start is a green eco-friendly organization that designs and builds water turbine induction systems for power creation and water desalination for the United States coastal regions. However, starting a business is a challenge. Without proper procedures and guidelines, a new business owner cannot identify and maintain a game plan to success. Creating a rough outline or game plan by the issuing of a mission statement is part of the strategic management process. To coincide with a mission statement, a vision statement describes what the organization wants to become. This paper offers ideas on how important these factors are as well as the four concepts of business: planning, leading, controlling, and organization are to the creating and implementation of a strategic business plan.
