Davison in 1826, first published between 1726-1730 and 1748 respectively. In the publisher's original paper boards. Contains a frontispiece and title vignette illustrated by Thomas Uwins and engraved by Charles Turner Warren. Despite The Seasons being written in Milton's narrative verse while The Castle of Indolence being written in Spenserian verse, both these Thomson classics commented on the beauty of nature and the countryside over that of industry. This particular edition was published at the height of romanticism, of which Thomson was foundational in Britain. In the publisher's original paper boards.
