"A statement of significant industry progress and the far-reaching implications concerning the advanced state of the art of automated typesetting", this booklet heralds the introduction of computerized typesetting systems on a commercial level. Claiming that the first and second steps in printing were Gutenberg's introduction of moveable type and the invention of Monotype and Linotype machines in the 19th century, the typography company Jaggars-Chiles-Stovall here identifies the use of computerized typesetting systems as being the 3rd step in the development of typesetting. Undertaking quite a large investment in this new technology, the company used this brochure to explain just how their computerized typesetting system worked, and explains how the combination of a keyboard that created perforated tape, an Intertype Model 300 computer, and an Intertype Fototronic system would work together 50% faster than any other typesetting equipment on the market. An exceptionally rare brochure from the advent of computerized printing, we can find no copies in holdings via OCLC or WorldCat. Soft Cover. Very Good.
