Lyon, par les heretiers de Benoist Riguad, 1600, small in-8°, 116 x 74 mm, 460 pp + (4)nn pp (Conge à son livre) , bound in contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine. Vellum soiled and dusty, title page dustsoiled, some marginal stains at pages 9, 21 and 28. Small loss of paper at leaves 317/18 and 319/20 resulting in the l…oss of only a few letters, not interfering with legibility, some neat old underllining at some pages, nothwithstanding these defects still a good/fine copy. From the library of George Montagu esq. (probably from the 1806 sale of his library), with his copper engraved heraldic ex-libris tipped on at the first paste down. USTC n° 21170 ( Baudrier vol. 3 pp 454 ). A collection of tales entitled '' Printemps'' , in facetious contrast to the author's own name, which are set in a Poitevin country house. The first edition was from 1572 (in Paris ) .
