This work might be considered the last and best edition of the first catalogue raisonne of Rembrandt's etchings and drypoints, originally compiled by Gersaint and published posthumously in 1751. xx, 217, xv, 245 pp. WITH THE RARE ERRATA LEAF. Thoroughly describes 382 prints by Rembrandt, and hundreds more after his works and by his followers. Beautifully printed on fine laid paper. 8vo. Contemporary cloth, decorated in blind and gilt. Light wear to extremities of binding, else FINE AND BRIGHT. Rare and important.

Avec une dédicace ( ex-dono) de G. Yver à sa cousine Louise Vallée. L'auteur reprends le titre des éditions du 16e siècle. Il signe l'introduction de l'ouvrage comme ''G. Yver''. Il explique qu'il veut sortir son homonyme de l'obscurité par éditer une version moderne de l'ouvrage originale. Rare.

Lyon, par les heretiers de Benoist Riguad, 1600, small in-8°, 116 x 74 mm, 460 pp + (4)nn pp (Conge à son livre) , bound in contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine. Vellum soiled and dusty, title page dustsoiled, some marginal stains at pages 9, 21 and 28. Small loss of paper at leaves 317/18 and 319/20 resulting in the loss of only a few letters, not interfering with legibility, some neat old underllining at some pages, nothwithstanding these defects still a good/fine copy. From the library of George Montagu esq. (probably from the 1806 sale of his library), with his copper engraved heraldic ex-libris tipped on at the first paste down. USTC n° 21170 ( Baudrier vol. 3 pp 454 ). A collection of tales entitled '' Printemps'' , in facetious contrast to the author's own name, which are set in a Poitevin country house. The first edition was from 1572 (in Paris ) .
