Original blind-stamped roman vellum binding.slightly rubbed.title written on spine. A very nice copy with an exceptional provenance from the most important noble spanish family since the middle ages. The ex libris was designed by Francisco Carnicero and engraved by Manuel Salvador Carmona prominet figures in the royal entourage as drawers and printers. The Alba´s library was dismantled in the XIX century (but partially) and several generations of Dukes were important bibliophiles that assembled a magnificent library with books coming from different family branches that were incorporated.Nowadays is considered one of the most important private libraries in Europe. This book is one of the few that were sold out during this short time of cash-strapped. Books from the Alba´s library are very rare to appear for sale.
